Bridal Beauty Trends 2014

Bridal Beauty Trends 2014

unnamed (2)

The 2014 bridal look is all about natural beauty, subtle glow and barely there nude lips with a touch of color.

To start with, the real key to this wedding trend is naturally beautiful skin.

Skin care should be at the top of list for every bride. Exfoliation is important to rid the skin of any flakiness along with proper moisturizing to keep the skin glowing. If you’re prone to breakouts, it’s a good idea to start with monthly facials six months before the wedding to keep breakouts in check and have the perfect canvas for your bridal makeup.

Foundation: with everything being in high definition, the last thing you want to use is a heavy opaque foundation that covers the skin completely. The camera see’s everything! You want to see the natural glow of your skin.
For this reason, airbrush foundation, when applied properly is the best way to achieve the flawless natural look. Why?  Because it mixes tiny dots of makeup with your own skin showing through giving minimum coverage with maximum results.

Try warming up your complexion with tones of peach, coral or pale rose on your cheeks depending on your coloring.   Choose slightly transparent, fleshy reds, browns, or pinks for your lips.  Open your eyes with perfectly groomed eyebrows, accentuated brow bones, and defined curled lashes frame the eyes like a beautiful picture frame accentuates a painting.
Many brides are using false lashes. I caution on this. Have a professional apply them if you are. Done properly this can give a beautiful big wide eye, if applied incorrectly it can give you more of a costume look.

Eye Shadows should be in the neutral pallet. Avoid heavy frost in your shadows. The camera can distort this look and take away from the beauty of your own eyes.

Although there are many trends, from retro bride to the smokey-eyed bride, always keep in mind that you will be forever immortalized on film. Timeless beauty is always best!

In the eyes of a wonderful Makeup artist

Pamela Dintzner is not only Elite Wedding & Events vendor, but one of the best makeup artist we have ever met and gues what? She is a soon to be bride.

Pamela expressed to stay on top of trends for the season she always resorts to the latest trends from fashion week and all of the fashion magazines. She also follows the blogs of many industry professionals. Her favorite Spring/Summer 2013 trend is PINK this season, I am seeing it on lips, lids, lashes, its not just for cheeks anymore, says Pamela. Lashes are in and the longer the better. Colored mascaras are making a come back from the 90’s. NEONS are being used with strategic placement. For example neon green eyeliner, on a minimalist nude face. All of these trends make me wanna SPRING into Spring….but my favorite trend is nude brows! Why is this you ask? Because my brows are naturally nude, lets face it practically invisible. As a creative person, what are some other creative things you like to do? It is rare that I ever get the time to do this, but I absolutely love to paint. I started painting as a Senior in high school. My grandparents got me an easel and a tackle box full of acrylic paints. I used a Bob Ross book as a guide, you know the “happy tree guy”. I used to watch his painting shows as a small kid and knew one day I wanted to paint just like him. I guess watching all of his instructions paid off because I ended up duplicated a few of his paintings, says Pamela with excitement in her eyes. She is really someone you not only see in her face the love for making brides beautiful on their special day, but someone who loves to work hard learning colors, meanings and importance in each tone.

What is your top beauty tip? I have a whole beauty bible full of tips! I would default to saying beautiful makeup starts with beautiful skin, but I feel like everyone knows that already. With that said it is important to have a morning skin routine to prep your skin for make up. It is equally important to have a night time skin routine, because at night is when your skin is repairing itself.
Another tip I have is to always use a primer! You wouldn’t paint your walls without priming them first, right? Well its the same with your face. Your foundation will look flawless and will also be longer wearing, when applying a foundation primer first. Same with eye makeup. Apply an eyelid primer or cream shadow first before applying your eyeshadow. You will find the eyeshadow is more vivid, it will last longer and won’t crease.

We needed to ask our beloved artist, how and why did she decide to become a makeup artist?
I’ve always loved makeup! I started wearing it at age 13 and have had black winged liner ever since. I became a professional makeup artist in 2007 when I started working at makeup counter, to put myself through college. I started at Estee Lauder, then became the business manager for Shu Uemura, where I grew a passion for the business aspect of the industry. I ended my retail career at MAC where I became certified and learned so many things that make me the artist I am today. I’ve had my freelance business KiSSandMaKeUp since 2010, where I do makeup for all occasions, was her great answer. What inspires me to bring beauty to brides is a real honor when a bride hires me to do their makeup on their wedding day. That means with all the other professionals in the industry, they trust me to make them look their absolute best on the most important day of their life. After all, the makeup in their wedding photos will be looked at for many years to come. I take great pride in making sure every detail of their makeup is perfect, and I know my brides appreciate me for that.
I’m inspired to bring beauty to brides because it’s a wonderful feeling to be apart of such an important day. Although I am doing the makeup, I always get swept up in the couples love story!

Meeting today with Women Wellness Day Spa

Here I am today again as always on the go, I have an exciting meeting with a Women Wellness Day Spa who wants to partner up with Elite Wedding & Event Planning.

So on our meeting today I will be offered a tour of the salon, chat then grab some informational packages for my brides to be. I for one am excited because I get to try their work before my brides do, aaaahhhhh the though of just sitting back and relieve all my stress and craziness.

Partnering with us is really important, we want I give our sponsors, vendors, all comfort we can, this is why I will be offering them one of my services for free as well, this is what you call networking and helping each other. I am really looking forward to growing my business here locally because it is a tough place, I mean with the economy and all it seems brides are wanting to plan their weddings on their own, which don’t get me wrong I think it’s an awesome idea, but let’s be honest here for a second, if you can afford it…..wouldn’t you want to hire a wedding planner? Even me being a planner I would hire one, weddings are special, an experience to enjoy not to stress over.

So like I said before, I am really looking forward to this meeting and will post pictures of the salon and all information for all you brides out there. Until later!!!!

My meeting with new florist was great!!

Yeah, I know I had promised an update sooner and here I am a week later posting about my meeting with the florist, but as a wedding planner, event, designer, etc, etc I was really caught up with June bride mock tables, purchasing my business liability insurance, which I finally did,…yaay.., and other busy day to day schedule.
Well the florist was such a wonderful person, we talked and talked for almost over three hours, yikes..well I speak for myself when I say, “I can really talk”, lol. We had a wonderful conversation about flowers, venues, brides, websites and even made some jokes which was really nice because it really helped breaking the ice, let me say I loved her flower shop, oh my God!! I wanted to sit and just prettend it was my home, lol. She had beautiful displays around the shop, and gave me the opportunity to take some pictures which I will share in a bit. She asked some questions about my business and I asked her questions about her business and we even exchanged business cards. It was really nice to see that she requested I bring her some promotional items to share for her clients, wow. This is something on my to-do list for tomorrow, right now I am working on 21 center pieces for June bride.

This is one of the shops display, I fell inlove with the colors, and they way they just let open the drawers with lilac crystals. Doesnt it look eye catching?

Now look at this display, even looks like a magazine picture, this is art, I say its not what you classify yourself, its the art behind your work that is really the first impression.

This is another display created by using a street flower cart, now this is so adorable, like I said her flower shop says it all.

You know what caught my attention in this wall display?, the green…my livingroom walls has two green ones and it really impressed me to see how you can organize a entire wall the same color, and not look dull, the touch is in what items and supplies you coordinate with.

Ahhh yes, just a simple wooden reading or computer desk filled with flowers, this is my kind of decoration,… I loved it!!

Another beautiful wall display, using lilac and some baby blue, who ever said these colors would not blend, it is tremendously beautiful.

This was my favorite, lol yeah because I just cant get enough when it comes to aromatic candles.

This was table placed by the entrance window, with such beauty.

This beautiful center piece she shared while working, when I had the meeting with her, at that moment they were in the process of creating 121 of these center pieces.

Another beautiful display, also in green which really caught my eye.

God this looks awesome, lol…. I know im drooling here for beauty.. I just love vintage looking decoration, I have a huge weakness for it.

This is part of the 121 center pieces she was actually working on, arent they artistic?

The third and final piece she was working on.

This was a wonderful experience I had, you see, not all vendors are willing to have a moment to really interact with wedding planners. If you really want to network with another vendor, take the time to really know them, their work and really understand what this work really means to them. I had such a wonderful time, I told her I will add her business to my vendors prefferd list.

Well, well now its time for me to continue my center piece mount, still have a few to go.

Have a wonderful day today!!
